Senate Budget Committee

SBC acts as a commentator on resource allocation and budget setting processes and outcomes within the University on behalf of Senate, advising UEB and providing update reports at each Senate meeting. SBC comments on a range of issues, including the presentation and granularity of data as it has been developed by Finance, and maintains a close interest in the development of new Resource Allocation processes for the University. SBC encourages transparency in budgetary matters and encourages improved understanding of financial issues and terminology. A number of resources have been prepared to aid staff engagement and understanding with University finances and can be accessed via the Resources page from the right hand box, including information about Shared Costs, the Strategic Development Fund and reports on financial allocation.

Minutes of the Committee's meetings will be made available to University staff online after the subsequent meeting, at which they are formally approved. Any items that have been redacted prior to publication are noted in the minutes.
