Policy
The Policy team provides briefings on the external policy environment for internal leads, including briefs to support key meetings.
The team co-ordinates University responses to consultations including by the Department for Education and the Office for Students, supports the national work of representative organisations including UniversitiesUK and the Russell Group, using University practice to inform and influence policy, and through briefings to University leaders and committees helps ensure the university responds proactively to forthcoming policy changes by reviewing practice internally.
We work with a range of internal partners to co-ordinate responses to bids and consultations, and with external partners to offer the University’s contribution to policy development. We also support the UEB in taking forward the University’s strategic priorities.

Keeping informed
We produce a weekly Policy Briefing which summarises what’s going on in the higher education policy world each week - register here for the Policy Briefing.
(Please note that the Policy Briefing is aimed at an internal staff audience and you will need to register with your University of Sheffield email address)
We also organise regular events via the Higher Education Policy Network (HEPN) as another way to keep informed on key policy developments impacting on higher education.
