Welcom to University of Sheffield Planning Society!
The Planning Society is run completely by students taking a course within the Urban Studies and Planning Department. We are proud to be working so closely with the department to be able to provide a bridge between the staff and students. With this connection, we are able to offer so much more to help you academically with your time in the department while also making sure you get the most out of your time here in Sheffield!
This year we are planning to have bigger and better events for everyone. There are many ways in which you can get involved as a member of the society. We host many socials throughout the year including picnics, bbqs, bowling socials and day trips. Alongside these, we also host some more drinking-oriented events such as bar crawls through west street and nights out at Tigerworks or Molly Malones (our sponsors, of which we have discounts for!). Thanks to our great connections with the department and other planning groups in and around sheffield, we are also able to host a range of academic events such as guest talks, lecturer talks and help sessions.
Our Facebook and Instagram are a great way to find out what’s happening within the society and in the department!

Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
