Although the University of Sheffield logo should be the most prominant on our website, it is sometimes important to represent a collaboration or partnership by including the logo of a third party lower down on your web pages. Here's how to do this in the CMS.

Before you insert a logo

Before a logo can be inserted on a page, it must first be uploaded to the CMS and added to our bank of logos. To add a logo:
  1. Verify you have permission to use the third-party logo on your website
  2. Obtain a high resolution version of the logo
  3. Upload it as an image to your Group media library and specify the required crop*
  4. Fill in the New logo request form
  5. You will receive and email to confirm that the logo is available in the bank of logos
  6. Insert it using the instructions below

*If you are struggling to crop your logo effectively then do your best and flag any issues on the New logo request form so we can help

Add a logo to the footer of all pages in your Group

Group owners can add a blue banner above the main footer on all pages with their Group website. It contains one or more logos which link to a website, plus some accompanying text.

Example of logos on a page footer

Here's how to activate the banner:

  1. Ensure the required logo/s are added to the bank of logos (see 'Before you insert a logo' box above)
  2. Go to the Edit tab in your Group
  3. At the bottom of the form select 'Add Logos'
  4. Insert a sentence of accompanying text in the box to explain why there are extra logos on your pages. For example, the text might say 'The Global Solutions 2025 Project is a collaboration between the University of Sheffield, the University of Springfield and Gotham City University' or 'Our academic partners:'
  5. Use the lookup to search for a logo from the bank. You can add more than one. The University of Sheffield logo is also available so, if relevant, consider inserting this as the first logo
  6. Reorder the logos as required
  7. Save

To remove the logos banner from your Group, press the Remove button in the logos section of the Edit tab in your Group.

Add logos to Home and Hub pages
