Paragraphs

The CMS comes with a variety of paragraph components that allow you to present content in different ways. They are available to insert into the main content area of Homepages and Hub pages.
Examples of multicoloumns and signposting boxes.

Paragraphs are optional and flexible. By combining paragraphs in the order of your choosing, you can create page layouts that present your website visitors with the right information at the right time.

Choose from:

Multi column

Allows you to display two to four components side-by-side.

How to add:

  • While editing a page click Add Paragraph in the Paragraphs section of the page and choose Multi column.
  • Choose whether to add an overarching title.
  • Then you can add two to four paragraphs within this multi column component.

Rules:

  • Only available to add into Homepages and Hub pages.
  • Can only be added by Group owners.
  • Editable by everybody.
  • Avoid adding more than four columns. It results in content becoming too narrow to display properly.

From library

Insert a reusable paragraph from a centrally-managed library. Reusable paragraphs reduce the need for different editors to have to create the same content over and over again. They also mean that a single source of information can be updated once centrally with the change being automatically applied wherever the reusable paragraph is used.

The library contains paragraphs consisting of the types above as well as some bespoke paragraphs such as the course finder.

How to add:

  • While editing a page or Multi column click Add Paragraph and choose From library.
  • Click Select reusable paragraph.
  • Search for and tick the paragraph you want to use.
  • Click the Select reusable paragraph button.

Rules:

  • Currently, only admins can add and edit the central library.
  • If you would like us to add a new, reusable paragraph to the library, please contact us.
