TV Licensing

Students can be fined up to £1,000 or face prosecution if found not to have a valid TV licence.

You need one if you:

  • Have a TV in your room
  • Watch or record live shows on your PC or laptop
  • If one person in your house or apartment has a TV licence for their room, this will cover a TV in a communal area.

A TV license costs £159 per year, and you may be able to get a refund during the summer vacation.
