PebblePad Glossary (for students)
There are a number of terms you will come across in subsequent pages that are specific to PebblePad.
Alumni Account - An account that can be created, migrating across your material on graduation.
Asset - An item that has been created in, or imported into Pebble+, by the learner. This is usually something created by filling in a Resource, but can also be a file such as an image or a piece of video.
Asset Store - The area of Pebble+ where a user can find Assets they have created, or have been shared with them.
ATLAS - Stands for Active Teaching, Learning & Assessment Space. This is the area of PebblePad where assignments are set, and learner submissions can be viewed, marked and graded. Students will rarely if ever need to use this part of the system.
Collection - A type of Asset which combines several other Assets from a learner’s Asset Store. Assets can be added one by one, or added automatically by date or tag.
Page - A type of Asset that is a single created page, that can optionally added to a Portfolio.
Pebble+ - The area of PebblePad where Assets and Resources are created and worked with. Students will almost always use this part of the system.
Portfolio - A portfolio that can be build by a learner, assembling various Assets from their Asset Store.
Resource - A blank form that has been created in Pebble+. Once taken and filled in, the finished product is an Asset.
Resource Centre - The area of Pebble+ where a user can find Resources they have created, or have been shared with them.
Tag - A keyword that can be given to an Asset for easy location, or to add automatically to a Collection.
Template - A form (Resource) that can be created in Pebble+, and then used by the learner or shared with others to use.
Workbook - A single Resource that contains several pages of material for a learner to fill in.
