Stonewall Survey for ALL staff
At our University we work hard to create a fully inclusive University community where everybody is supported to reach their potential, regardless of personal characteristics.
Support for Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transgender (LGBT+) staff and students across the University is a key and extremely significant part of this work. We are very proud of what we do to achieve this: we supported Sheffield PinkNic and Sheffield Pride again this year, hosting Pride in the Student's Union building; we ran a number of events focusing on LGBT+ equality that were open to all; and we visually demonstrated our commitment to LGBT+ equality by flying the Rainbow Flag for a week outside Firth Hall and wrapping the columns on the Concourse in Rainbow colours.
We are currently ranked 43rd in the Stonewall Workplace Equality index, an annual benchmarking exercise that ranks the Top 100 employers in Britain for LGBT equality, and a huge improvement on our previous year's ranking of 82nd. We would like to say a huge thank you to staff across the University who have worked in partnership to achieve this success. The Stonewall Index is an important tool to help us to benchmark our progress, and identify areas we need to do more work on, and we have once again made a submission to the Index.
As part of this submission, Stonewall would like to hear from ALL our staff on their experiences in the workplace. The information that you provide is entirely anonymous and will go to Stonewall's Workplace team, and not to the University. Once the feedback is collected and analysed, only aggregated scores are shared with us.
It is extremely valuable for the University to hear your views and experiences on LGBT+ equality. We had a fantastic response to the survey last year, and we would really like to encourage you to please fill the survey in again. It takes less than 10 minutes to do so.
