Hiring Process: Pre-Selection For the Recruiter, this phase of the recruitment process starts when the vacancy is advertised on the web and is complete when the panel are informed that the applications are available for shortlisting.
While the vacancy is being advertised on the web, Recruiters and Panel members are able to monitor the number and quality of applications, as required. If insufficient applications have been received, the Recruiter may contact Human Resources to request an extension to the publication period.
Disability Confident (previously Two Ticks): Once the vacancy has closed to applicants, the Recruiter will use e-Recruitment to automatically identify any candidate that has applied under the Disability Confident Scheme. The University's participation in the Disability Confident Scheme, a national JobcentrePlus initiative, forms a part of our on-going commitment to equal opportunities. Further information on the Disability Confident Scheme is available at: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/hr/equality/disability_confident/about
The Recruiter will email the shortlisting panel when the applications are available for assessment against the essential and desirable criteria in the About The Job document, highlighting any candidate that has applied under the Disability Confident Scheme.
