Quiet and silent study space is very popular at this time of year. As such, we’ve added additional silent study areas to meet your needs, including Level 4 in Western Bank Library.

Please do be aware that if you are sat in a space that has been booked by another user, you may be politely asked to move. To secure a space to study, you can book your space here.

Please be considerate to your fellow students during the assessment period by keeping noise to a minimum.

Outside of IC

Study healthily and take a break

Study Passes:

It's important to take a break from studying from time to time. If you need to leave your desk for more than a few minutes, you can use a study break pass to make it clear to others when you’ll be back.

Passes are available from the Welcome Desk at Western Bank Library, the Health Sciences Library, throughout the Information Commons and the Diamond. Use these passes to let other people know that you will be leaving your desk for up to 45 minutes.

The Garden Room:

The Garden Room is located on the Ground Floor of the Information Commons, and is designed as a space to rest and unwind. A laptop-free zone, the Garden Room has its own collection of books on mindfulness and reflection, as well as comfortable seating, tables, and blankets.

Prioritised access for university students

We prioritise student access to study spaces in all libraries during the assessment period. We will therefore limit access for external users so that more study spaces are available for students during this time.
