White Rose eTheses Online (WREO)

WREO is an online repository of doctoral theses from the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. It is part of a national, and international, network of open access online databases which promote access to research outputs so that they can be found, read, cited and built upon. Copies of theses from WREO are also available as part of EthOS (the British Library's Electronic Theses Online Service).

University of Sheffield submissions

Students who registered for a research degree from the start of the 2008-09 session onwards are required to submit an electronic copy of their final approved thesis to WREO. This is in addition to the requirement to submit a final hard copy for the University Library. If you registered before October 2008 submission is optional. Talk to your Faculty Librarian, supervisor or Research and Innovation Services to discuss the benefits.

Uploading itself is easy and there is detailed information on how to do it. It is important to do some work in advance in relation to issues such as copyright and embargoes. The Library can provide training and further advice. Contact the librarian for your department for details.

Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the WREO website - you'll be prompted to log in to MUSE as necessary.
