Supporting student employability and career development

This session will enable attendees to navigate the increasingly complex Higher Education employability landscape; explain how both national and institutional context impact on our support for students and understand how students can access support for career development through our Programme Level Approach and the Careers Service central programme of resources and activities.

By the end of this session attendees will:

  • Understand key aspects of national and institutional context relating to employability
  • Understand what we mean by a Programme Level Approach (PLA) to employability, and why it is important
  • Feel more confident supporting students directly
  • Increase awareness of online and face to face support for students

Format: Presentation, discussion and workshop

Audience: All staff in roles teaching or supporting students - either in academic departments or professional services
