In January, we will be holding a series of refresher webinars covering some of our most popular courses from the Learning & Teaching Enhancement Team, Professional Development Team and Digital Learning Team:

Elevate Refresh Events: Teaching in Semester 2

Learning and Teaching / Digital Learning webinars

Our webinar series is designed to help you develop your teaching practice and address everyday teaching challenges. Sessions are tailored to the current context of blended learning and include workshops on:

  • How to use the University's digital learning tools, from running virtual classrooms to electronic management of assessment.
  • Specific challenges or areas of practice, for example building community, engaging students or designing assessment.
  • Key priority themes such as employability and inclusivity.

Learning and Teaching Professional Recognition Scheme Workshops

There are a range of workshops designed to support you in your application for recognition through the Learning and Teaching Professional Recognition Scheme (LTPRS). These include:

  • Introductory 'Explorer' workshops
  • 'Developing Your Application' workshops
  • 'Write On' workshops - designed to give you some focused time to work on your application
  • Senior Fellowship Development workshops

Sheffield Teaching Assistant Workshops

These workshops are designed for Graduate Teaching Assistants at The University of Sheffield.

They are designed to introduce you to many of the broad principles and good practice that underpins learning and teaching in Higher Education. They cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Lecturing
  • Seminar facilitation
  • Active learning
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Teaching design and delivery

One to one advice

1:1 Teaching Support advice slots

Discuss ideas and challenges around any aspect of learning and teaching, from curriculum design to digital learning technologies, with our Learning Advisers. Sessions are tailored to your specific needs and requirements, and can be booked by individuals or small groups.

LTPRS advice slots

Discuss your LTPRS application for professional recognition with one of our advisers. This is suitable for applicants for all levels AFHEA/ FHEA/ SFHEA /PFHEA

TELFest, The University of Sheffield's Festival of Technology Enhanced Learning and Innovation, will return in Summer 2021.

Learning and Teaching Scholarship Exchange

Learning and Teaching Scholarship Exchange is a regular seminar series aiming to provide a platform for celebrating and sharing work that has been carried out across the institution around aspects of learning and teaching practice, with particular emphasis on the opportunity for in-depth discussion and networking between presenters and participants. This is a joint enterprise between Elevate, the School of Education, and the Learning and Teaching Scholarship Network.

It is open to any member of staff engaged in the scholarship of Learning and Teaching and presentations do not have to be based on completed work; early stage research is also welcome.
