December is here! There are so many Christmassy events going on around campus and the student residences, and there are even a few trips away from the university that have been organised. Here's our list of the top events to get you into the festive spirit:

Lincoln Christmas Market

November’s trip to the Leeds Christmas market was a huge success, so on Saturday 6 December Give it a Go will be running will a trip to Lincoln to visit their historic Christmas market. Meet on Oakholme Road at 9.30am. Tickets are £14.

Manchester Christmas Market

If Lincoln isn't for you, there is also a chance to visit Manchester Christmas markets on the 6 December. Tickets cost £10 for USEES members and £12 for non members. Meet outside the Students’ Union at 10am

A Christmas Concert

On Saturday 6 December, St Mark’s Church will be holding their annual Christmas Concert with the Medics Orchestra, featuring the Medics Choir. The concert starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are £3 for students.

Christmas Jumper Day

Friday 12th December is Christmas Jumper Day. Send a selfie to @SheffieldSU on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #suxmasjumper from Monday 8 - Friday 12 December for the chance to win some fab prizes.

Christmas Crafternoon

On 8 December, get in the Christmassy spirit by making your own home-made presents. Tickets are £1.

Student V Food - Christmas Special

Bar one is hosting a 1.8kg Christmas dinner on 8 December, including a huge pile of turkey, (there’s a veggie option available), two giant pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, stage and onion stuffing, vegetables and a mince pie for dessert. What more could you want? An early Christmas dinner before you head home for Christmas! £11.95 for the meal.

Snow ROAR

Keep 10 December free because the traditional Wednesday ROAR is getting all Christmassy. ROAR will be brining the best part of winter indoors with snow canons and lots of winter giveaways! Tickets are £4.

Christmas Origami

Come along to Monsal Dale, Ranmoor on 12th December to learn how to make various Christmas themed origami. Tickets cost £1.

I wish it could be Pop Tarts every day

The final Pop Tarts of 2014 is coming to the Students’ Union on the 13 December. It’s a Christmas special, so expect an overload of Christmas songs. Oh, and Christmas cocktails! Tickets cost £4.

Castle Howard at Christmas

The last Give it a Go trip of 2014 is to the magnificent 18th-century house, Castle Howard. There are live performances daily and delicious seasonal menus in the restaurant and cafés, not forgetting the gift shops. Meet on Durham Road at 9am on the 14 December. Tickets cost £25.50.

The Snowman

The much loved classic Christmas film 'The Snowman' is being shown in a unique and special event accompanied by a live 25 piece professional orchestra. There will be a performance on the 15 December at 7pm in the Octagon. Tickets are £9 for students.
