A reminder to take care of your personal safety and security

Sheffield StreetAt this time of year many of you will be studying late at the IC or with friends in addition to going out late at night for social events. Please remember that you need to take care of yourself and your friends, avoiding being out on your own late at night or in the early hours of the morning, even if it's light and even if you are coming home from or going to the Information Commons.

Sheffield is a relatively safe city but not crime-free. Please remind yourself of our safety advice.

Personal alarms can be obtained from the Union sabbatical offices and can be used by men or women. You carry it in your hand and set it off if you feel under threat from someone else while out.

Further information is available also regarding the Safe Taxi Scheme and the Women's Minibus, which picks up at the Information Commons and the Students' Union.
