The University of Sheffield
English Language Teaching Centre

Teacher Training and Development

The ELT Centre is a central support service of the University. We offer a wide range of English language courses and services. Facilities at the Centre include 32 classrooms, computer suites, interactive whiteboards and a dedicated training room.

Our staff have experience of teaching international students in a wide range of locations and situations, both in the UK and overseas. Teacher training and development form an important part of the Centre and each year we offer a range of programmes.

We offer courses, workshops and modules that may be of interest to both new and experienced teachers. These range from one-off sessions, short intensive courses to longer part-time programmes and input on the MA in Applied Linguistics run by the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics at the University.
