Department placed in global top 50 of geography departments
The annual 2012 QS World University Rankings placed the Department of Geography at the University of Sheffield in the top 50 geography departments worldwide. The department was placed 48th worldwide, 21st in Europe, was one of only four departments in the north of England & Scotland and the only department in Yorkshire and the Humber to be placed in the global top 50.
