About the course3 years part-time online This fully online course is ideal for midwives everywhere who want to develop professional practice and move on in their career. Your growing intellectual curiosity and critical faculties will help you understand an international perspective on contemporary midwifery and childbearing issues, and contribute to the debate. Entry requirementsYou must have a suitable degree, or be able to show that you can study at a postgraduate level. Our APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) programme recognises skills and knowledge you have gained through working. For the MMid degree, you must be a registered midwife. For the MMedSci, you need experience in maternity care. You can be located anywhere in the world but you’ll need access to a computer with a broadband internet connection. English language requirements for overseas studentsOverall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, or equivalent. Entry requirements for international students

TeachingYou'll be taught entirely by online distance learning with no need to attend in person. We expect you to contribute regularly to online discussion groups. AssessmentYour submitted work is assessed throughout the course (a 3,000-word assignment for each taught unit), and you’ll get feedback from your tutor. You'll also write a dissertation or an extended workplace study. Fees and fundingIf you already work with NHS patients in NHS Yorkshire and the Humber or East Midlands, funding may be available.
