About the course

This course combines cutting-edge theory with skills training to produce effective, engaging leaders. Whether you want to lead a team or a multinational company, we can help you achieve your goals.

Drawing on expertise from the management school and from our world-class Institute of Work Psychology (IWP), we'll show you how to develop strategy, motivate people and nurture innovation.

This course is designed to reflect the business environment and the focus is on skills-building and action learning.

There are two modules dedicated to real-world case studies and teamwork and we invite guest speakers from business and industry and organise field trips to leading companies.

You can also apply to do a project-based dissertation, working with an external organisation.

How we teach

We'll teach you how to identify opportunities, solve problems and inspire others. Many of our teaching staff are world-class researchers working in policy-relevant areas. Our courses are based on their research.

We bring in guest speakers from business, local government and industry. You can apply to carry out a project with an external organisation as part of your course. We also offer you the chance to spend the summer at another university overseas.

Courses at the Institute of Work Psychology (IWP)

The IWP is an international centre for research in occupational and organisational psychology. As part of the Management School, its taught programmes are ideal for students who are considering careers in business consultancy, human resource management or organisational research. Based near campus, the centre brings together staff from various University departments, including the Management School, to work with private and public sector organisations.
