Students outside Students' UnionSociological Studies tops sector-wide average for overall student satisfaction in National Student Survey

The Department of Sociological Studies has been ranked above the sector-wide average for overall student satisfaction in both Social Policy and Sociology in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2014.

The Department was awarded satisfaction rates for Sociology and Social Policy that are higher than the sector scores for their respective categories, with Sociology receiving an overall student satisfaction rate of 90%.

These scores once again reaffirm the University’s position at number one for student experience, after being crowned top in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey in May this year and receiving the accolade for number one Students’ Union in the UK for the third year in a row. This endorses Sheffield as a unique place to study that gives students an unrivalled, rich experience in a city unlike any other in the UK.
