There are various ways to come and visit us throughout the year. For the best experience, we recommend you attend both a University Open Day and a department open day. We also run campus tours throughout term time.

If you really want to know what Sheffield is all about, you've got to come to one of our Open Days. You can take a tour of the campus, the Students' Union and the accommodation. There are talks about studying abroad, how to get loans and grants and other things that matter to you.
Academic departments hold talks throughout the day, so you can visit the ones you're interested in. Staff and students will be there to answer your questions. Most important of all, you get to find out how it feels – the atmosphere, the people, the campus and the city.
Register your interest and we'll be in touch to let you know when booking opens in February.
Campus toursCan't make one of our main Open Days or department open days? Take tour of the University central campus instead. These take place on Wednesdays throughout term time, leaving at 1pm from the Students' Union main entrance. We also run tours on Mondays and Fridays during busy periods. Campus tours are mainly for pre-application students, their family members, and other visitors to the University. |
Department open daysDepartments run their own open days, later in the year, after you apply. If a department offers you a place, or they're thinking of offering you a place, you'll be invited. This is your chance to get to know your department better. You spend a whole day with staff and students. They'll tell you more about the course and the research they do. You'll be shown around the department and the University. Some department open days include an interview. Any questions?
