University of Sheffield students can gain additional research experience during their undergraduate career, either by undertaking an independent research project or by contributing to the work of a larger research team during vacation periods. This gives students an opportunity to develop a deeper knowledge of a particular subject area and enhanced research skills in relation to this, as well as key transferable skills in areas such as working as part of a team (collaboration and communication), time and resource management and analysis. Opportunities to gain additional research experience outside the University's SURE (Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience) schemes are advertised as required to University students with relevant experience.
