AIESEC Involvement
University of Sheffield Enterprise
AIESEC (Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales) is the world's largest youth-led organisation, active in over 1700 universities in 124 countries. At Sheffield it is led by students through USE (University of Sheffield Enterprise), as a 'friend' of the Students' Union rather than a student society. AIESEC's core activities are focused on facilitating a global exchange scheme that provides challenging, cultural work internships for students and recent graduates. Sheffield students thus have the opportunity to participate in international exchanges that involve internships abroad, or in an AIESEC leadership programme. Students can also work to create additional jobs in Sheffield, organise events to promote leadership, or collaborate with local companies to organise other kinds of student events. Students can represent Sheffield and AIESEC UK at a range of different levels, and can themselves take on responsibility for facilitating the above activities.
