For all students:

In the event of failure in the Control Systems Project and Dissertation (ACS6200) at the first attempt, any resubmission is subject to the approval of the Board of Examiners.

For all students:

A student will be responsible for securing a suitable industrial placement of at least 36 weeks in order to take ACS6130 Industrial Placement. The appropriateness of the placement will be determined by the Departmental Director of Education (or their designate). A student who fails to obtain a suitable placement will instead be required to become a student for the Degree of MSc in Advanced Control and Systems Engineering (ACST01).

For all students:

The ACS6130 Industrial Placement will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the Degree of MSc in Advanced Control and Systems Engineering (ACST01).

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022

A student who failed to pass one or more of the modules from the list below may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules: ACS6131.

Where a student has met the requirements for the award of a degree under the General Regulations for Higher Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and Postgraduate Certificates but not the requirements for the award of a degree accredited under Engineering Council rules, they may be recommended for the award of MSc Advanced Control and Systems Engineering Studies (with Industry).
