A student must normally achieve a weighted mean grade of 55 or above at Level 1 in order to proceed to the Year in Industry, progression being at the discretion of the Head of Department. A student who fails to progress may be permitted to become instead a student for the Degree of BEng Computer Systems Engineering (ACSU01).

3C

ACSU45 requires that a student will spend a minimum of 38 weeks working in an industrial establishment, the arrangements being subject to the approval of the Head of Department. The Year in Industry will be assessed using: (a) a short written report; (b) a post-placement poster/presentation. No grades will be awarded for the Year in Industry which will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the BEng Computer Systems Engineering (ACSU01).

3D

A student will be responsible for securing a suitable industrial placement in order to take ACS395 Year in Industry. The appropriateness of the placement will be determined by the Head of Department. A student who fails to obtain a suitable placement will instead be required to become a student for the Degree of BEng Computer Systems Engineering (ACSU01).
