CIV1900 has a field course component.
A student must pass units CIV1000, CIV102, CIV1200, CIV150, CIV1900, MAS151, MAT1600 and FCE1001 to proceed to Level 2.
A student must pass units CIV2100, CIV2200, MAT2600 and FCE2001 to proceed to Level 3.
A student must have been awarded a minimum of 100 credits at Level 2 and obtained a weighted mean grade greater than or equal to 54.5 to proceed to Level 3. A student who does not fulfil these criteria will be transferred onto the BEng Civil Engineering programme (CIVU17) with the units passed as defined in 2B. A student may return to this programme, after the February Board of Examiners, in Year 3 if (a) their weighted mean grade exceeds 60 for Semester 1, Year 3 units (excluding MGT388); (b) if they pass CIV397 in lieu of CIV396 and (c) if the student has opted to take MAS380 in Semester 1.
A student must have been awarded a minimum of 110 credits, including unit CIV396 (or CIV397 if the student has transferred from CIVU17) to proceed to Level 4. A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted by the Faculty to be awarded the Degree of BEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU17) but will be ineligible for the award of that Degree with Honours.
A student must pass CIV4000 Individual Research Project or CIV4004 European-Based Individual Research Study at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering (CIVU03). A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted by the Faculty to be awarded the Degree of BEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU17) but will be ineligible for the award of that Degree with Honours.
