CIV1900 has a field course component.
A student must pass units CIV1000, CIV104, CIV1200, CIV150, CIV1900, MAS151 and MAT1600 to proceed to Level 2.
A student must pass units CIV2100, CIV2200, MAT2600, FCE1001 and FCE2001 to proceed to Level 3.
A student must normally achieve a weighted mean grade of equal to or greater than 60 at Level 2 in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering with Study Abroad Year (CIVU29), progression being at the discretion of the Board of Examiners.
A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted to become instead a student for either the Degree of MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering (CIVU03) or the Degree of BEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU17) with the units passed as defined in 2B and subject to the degree regulations of these programmes.
Grades awarded in respect of units listed at Level 3 above will carry the same weight as grades awarded at Level 2.
A student must pass CIV4000 Individual Research Project at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering with Study Abroad Year (CIVU29). A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted by the Faculty to be awarded the Degree of BEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU17) but will be ineligible for the award of that Degree with Honours.
