A person may be admitted as a student who is a recognised graduate and has gained educational qualifications deemed acceptable by the Head of School.

The programme of study shall usually be pursued part-time for three years.

EDU6201  Contemporary Issues for Early Childhood Education SPR SEM 30 credits

EDU6187  Critical Reflection on Professional Development GRAD YR 30 credits

A student will take

A student who has completed an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (EDUT192) at the University of Sheffield may be deemed to have completed EDU6168 and EDU6186.

A student who has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at another Institution may be deemed to have completed either thirty credits or sixty credits in respect of units listed at 3 and 4 above subject to the approval of the Head of School.

A student who is admitted to Year 2 of the programme, may be required to replace thirty credits in respect of units listed at 4 above with EDU6186 Practice-based inquiry.  This will be subject to the approval of the Head of School

A student who achieves one hundred and twenty credits in respect of units listed at 3 and 4 above, will be eligible for the award of a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Teaching and Learning (EDUT240).

A student who achieves sixty credits in respect of units listed at 3 above, will be eligible for the award of an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (EDUT192).

A student who achieves sixty credits in respect of units listed at 3 and 4 above, will be eligible for the award of either a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Teaching and Learning (EDUT241) or an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (EDUT192) in accordance with Regulation 9 above.
