A student must normally achieve a weighted grade of 55 or above at Level 2 and Level 3 in order to proceed to the Year in Industry, progression being at the discretion of the Head of Department. A student who fails to progress may be permitted to become instead a student for the Degree of MEng in Engineering (GEEU01).

4C

A student will be responsible for securing a suitable industrial placement in order to take GEE303 Engineering Year in Industry. The appropriateness of placement will be determined by the Course Director. A student who fails to obtain a suitable placement will instead be required to become a student for the Degree of MEng Engineering (GEEU01). A student will take GEE303 Engineering Year in Industry before proceeding to Level 4.

4D

GEE303 requires that a student will spend a minimum of 38 weeks working in an industrial establishment, the arrangements being subject to the approval of the Course Director. A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the Degree of MEng in Engineering (GEEU01).
