A student must pass the Individual Advanced Project (GEE401) at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng General Engineering with an Industrial Placement Year (GEEU21). A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted by the Faculty to be awarded the Degree of BEng General Engineering with an Industrial Placement Year (GEEU43).
|
7
|
A student must pass a minimum of 100 credits at Level 4 in order to be awarded the degree of MEng General Engineering with an Industrial Placement Year with accreditation.
|
8
|
A student must satisfy the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees as to progression in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng General Engineering with an Industrial Placement Year (GEEU21). A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to (a) at the end of Level 2 become a candidate for the Degree of BEng General Engineering with an Industrial Placement Year (GEEU43), or (b) at the end of Level 3 become a candidate for the unaccredited Degree of BEng Engineering Technology (GEEU46). A student who fails the Individual Advanced Project at Level 4 or who chooses to withdraw from the University at the end of Level 3 may be awarded the unaccredited Degree of BEng Engineering Technology (GEEU46).

A student who has been awarded credit in compensation of failed units in Years 2, 3 and 5 will be permitted an additional resit attempt in the compensated credits. An additional resit attempt can only be granted where the student has met the requirements for progression (or completion) under the General Regulations for First Degrees.
A student who has been awarded credit in compensation of failed units in Years 2, 3 and 5, where the grade achieved is more than 10% below the pass grade in those failed units, may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules.
A student who has been awarded more than 30 credits in compensation of failed units across Years 1, 2, 3 and 5, may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules.
A student who failed to pass one or more of the modules from the list below may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules: GEE101, GEE201, GEE301, GEE401, MGT388, FCE1001, FCE2001.
Where a student has met the requirements for the award of a degree under the General Regulations for First Degrees but not the requirements for the award of a degree accredited under Engineering Council rules, they may be recommended for the award of MEng Engineering Technology.
