For students commencing Level 1 of their studies prior to the academic year 2019-20: A student must satisfy the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees in the Faculty of Engineering as to progression in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU001). A student who fails to satisfy these requirements, or chooses to withdraw from the University at Level 3, may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002). In this instance, in addition to satisfying the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees as to the Final Examination for the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002), the student must achieve a grade of 40 or above in the individual element of the Group Design Project (MEC307). A student who does not achieve a grade of 40 or above in the individual element of the Group Design Project (MEC307) at the first attempt will be ineligible for the award of the Degree with Honours.
