4F

A student must normally achive a weighted mean grade of 60 or above at Level 1 and Level 2 in order to continue as a student for the degree of MEng Mechanical Engineering with a Year in North America (MECU004), progression being at the discretion of the Board of Examiners.  A student who fails to satisfy the requirement may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for either the Degree of MEng Mechanical Engineering (MECU001) or the Degree of BEng Mechanical Engineering (MECU002).

4G

A student must satisfy the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees as to progression in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering with a Year in North America (MECU004).  A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002).

4H

A student must pass MEC401 (Individual Project) at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering with a Year in North America (MECU004). A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be awarded the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002).

4I

Grades awarded in respect of MEC398 (Study Year in North America) will carry the same weight as grades awarded at Level 2.
