Before proceeding to Level 3, a candidate shall attain a satisfactory standard in an Engineering Applications Course, the arrangements being subject to the approval of the Head of Department.

5

A candidate must satisfy the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees as to progression in order to continue as a candidate for the Degree of MEng in Sports Engineering (MECU013). A candidate who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a candidate for the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002). In this instance the individual element of the Group Design Project (MEC307) will be taken into account to satisfy the requirement to complete an individual project. A candidate must pass this element to satisfy the requirements for the award of a BEng Honours Degree. A candidate who fails to satisfy this requirement will be ineligible for the award of the Degree with Honours.

6

A candidate must pass MEC401 (Individual Project) at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Sports Engineering. A candidate who fails to satisfy this requirement may be awarded the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002).
