Description

This module introduces students to the Chinese legal system and the main components of Chinese constitutional and private law in preparation for further in-depth study of Chinese domestic law during the students' year abroad. Taught in English, the module provides students with the terminology, characteristics and classifications of Chinese law, and demonstrates in general terms the differences between the study and practice of law in the Chinese civil law system as opposed to the English common law system.
