ACSE's 40th Anniversary

The academic year 2008/2009 marks the Department of ACSE's 40th Anniversary and to honour the occasion the Department hosted a special party to coincide with Graduation Day celebrations.

The event took place in the Firth Court marquee on Thursday 23rd July and it was pleasing that many of this year’s graduates and their families, current staff and retired staff and alumni of the Department were able to attend.

Also present were distinguished guests and representatives from Rolls-Royce and BAe in recognition of their close association with the Department and University.

It was particularly delightful that Mrs Gloria Nicholson was able to join us at our 40th Anniversary as Gloria is the widow of Professor Harry Nicholson, who was the first Head of the Control Engineering Department (1968 to 1987).
