Archaeology at Sheffield achieved an ‘Overall Satisfaction’ score of 91% in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS), which means we’re ranked in the top 5 Archaeology departments in the Russell Group, and in the top 10 of Archaeology departments across the UK.

The annual National Student Survey asks undergraduate students who are in their final year of study in the UK for their views on many different aspects of their university experience, such as learning and teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, learning resources, and their Students’ Union.

Within the University of Sheffield, Archaeology was ranked as the top scoring department in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and amongst the highest ranked departments in the University as a whole. Additionally, Archaeology has seen an improvement in our score for satisfaction in our teaching, learning opportunities, academic support, and the student voice. These results attest to how we, as a Department, strive to deliver the best learning experience for our students, and support a vibrant academic community.
