Researchers from Sheffield University Management School and the Department of Psychology recently held a joint, interdisciplinary research workshop to share their work and foster ideas for future collaboration.
Research staff from Behavioural Research for Inclusivity, Sustainability and Technological Transformation (BRISTT), Institute of Work Psychology (IWP) and Department of Psychology participated in the event, which was organised and led by Dr Tony Grimes (BRISTT) and Prof Tom Stafford (Department of Psychology). Attendees enjoyed lightning talks from 9 researchers from across the two departments, followed by a workshop to discuss commonalities in research interests, expertise and methodological approaches.
A number of themes emerged as offering the potential for collaborative work, including sustainable behaviour, behaviour change, emotional regulation, communication, virtual reality and the use of eye-tracking technology in research. At the end of the session, attendees were shown around the iLab, located in the The Wave building, and were able to discuss collaborative access to the equipment and associated training.
The two departments plan to continue to facilitate and promote opportunities for collaborative work with a series of invited research seminars and future interdisciplinary workshops.
