BiographyI joined the department in February 2010 and am working with Dr Mark Dickman and Prof Neil Hunter, FRS, (Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) on a 5-year BBSRC-funded project. Our objective is to expand current understanding of the biosynthesis and assembly of photosynthetic complexes, using Rhodobacter and Synechocystis as model organisms. My background is in the characterisation and quantitation of proteins and peptides by mass spectrometry. I am working on the proteomics of photosynthetic membranes, identifying the components of protein complexes involved in their assembly and developing quantitative analyses for the enzyme systems responsible for chlorophyll biosynthesis. |
