PhD Research: Environmental Impacts upon Drinking Water Biofilms
A drinking water distribution simulation facility is being used to investigate the influence of hydraulic regime and disinfection concentration upon biofilm structure. Of particular interest are the environmental impacts upon characteristics of the EPS matrix, community composition and any subsequent influences these have upon biofilm stability.
My current research is part of the Pipe Dreams project within the Pennine Water Group and is funded by NERC and EPSRC.
Masters Degree Research: The Journey to Safe Drinking Water
My past research was regarding the microbial ecology of a water treatment plant and was within the Animal and Plant Science department at the University of Sheffield.
