Call for Papers: Workshop on Financial Management and Technology for a Sustainable Future

Sheffield University Management School are inviting submissions for the Workshop on Financial Management and Technology for a Sustainable Future.

We are inviting submissions for the Workshop on Financial Management and Technology for a Sustainable Future supported by the Accounting and Financial Management Division and the Centre for Research into Accounting and Finance in Context (CRAFiC) at Sheffield University Management School (SUMS). We invite theoretical and applied contributions that push the boundaries of financial management and technology, driving us towards a sustainable future.

The event will be open to academics (including early-career researchers and PhD students) and practitioners interested in a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: Climate Finance; Sustainable Business/Finance; Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG); Green Finance; Financial Technology (FinTech); Sustainable Innovation in Business; Big Data; Artificial Intelligence; and Financial Regulation. The workshop will provide opportunities for attendees to share their cutting-edge research findings and engage in discussions about the important role of sustainability and emerging technologies in shaping perceptions among academics, practitioners, policymakers, and wider society.

At the event, we will be joined by keynote speakers:

  • Professor Marc Goergen, Professor of Finance at IE University
  • Dr Larisa Yarovaya, Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Southampton

The event will take place on 1 and 2 July 2024 at Sheffield University Management School.

Submission guidelines

Submissions of full papers are preferred, although extended abstracts will also be considered.

Notification of acceptance: 1 May 2024

Expenses: There is no registration fee. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses.

Funding and support: The workshop includes complimentary social and networking events, with refreshments and dinner. Accommodations may be provided upon early request. This workshop is generously funded by the SUMS Research and Knowledge Exchange/Impact Stimulation (RKEI) Fund at the Sheffield University Management School (SUMS).
