Jiarui joined the Department in September 2023 as a Research Associate. He is responsible for multiple research projects, focusing on the youth labour market and household finance in the UK.
Jiarui completed his PhD at Cardiff University (2023), on the topic of return to eduation and over-education wage penalty in the Chinese labour market. Prior to his current job, Jiarui worked as a Teaching Assistant at Cardiff Business School and a Research Assistant at the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research and Data (WISERD).
