Teaching English (TEFL) Taster

Here is a chance to get a TEFL taster and give 'Teaching English as a Foreign Language´ a go. You will look at teaching resources, planning a simple lesson, some basic language awareness tasks and try out some activities. This is a very useful introduction if you´re thinking of travelling, teaching or want to do a full TEFL course later.

Participants can get a £50 discount on a full Cambridge CELTA TEFL Certificate course at the ELTC. An attendance certificate will be given.

Last year around 250 people, students and external guests, took the TEFL taster course, making it one of the most popular events at the University of Sheffield.

We will be running one more TEFL Taster session this academic year -

Friday May 25th  

2:00pm to 5:00pm

Location of session;

English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) at 78 Hoyle Sreet, S3 7LG.

(Part of the Opal 3 complex, opposite the Shell Garage between Netherthorpe Road and Shalesmoor tram stops)

£7.50 for the 3-hour session, if a University of Sheffield student and bought from the Student Union box office.

PLEASE NOTE TICKETS WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNITL AFTER THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.
