The University is pleased to offer a range of scholarships to students from Malaysia who show exceptional academic potential and are starting their studies at the University of Sheffield in September 2012.

Malaysia Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2012 (£6,500)
There are two Malaysia Merit Undergraduate Scholarships available for Malaysian students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2012.
Each scholarship is worth £6,500 of your undergraduate course tuition fee per year.
To be eligible for the Malaysia Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2012 (£6,500), applicants must be a Malaysian national or permanently domiciled in Malaysia, apply for a study place by Friday 20 April 2012 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2012.
The Malaysia Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2012 (£6,500) are awarded on the basis of academic merit.
If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2012 onwards.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
The deadline for applications is Friday 27 April 2012; results will be announced on Friday 1 June 2012.
Postgraduate Scholarships eg MA, MSc
The University offers a range of scholarships for Malaysian students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate taught masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2012.
Malaysia Sheffield Scholarships 2012
We are pleased to offer the Malaysia Sheffield Scholarship 2012 to all Malaysian students starting a Taught Masters programme in September 2012.
The scholarships are:
- £1,000 each for students studying Nanotechnology courses (jointly run with the University of Leeds)
- £1,500 each for students paying fees between £12,160 - £13,990
- £2,000 each for students paying fees of £13,991 and upwards
Eligibility and award criteria:
- You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters programme in September 2012.
- You must be a Malaysian national or permanently domiciled in Malaysia.
- You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
- The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required.
- The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
Malaysia Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2012
There is one Malaysia Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2012, available for a Malaysian student starting their postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2012.
The scholarship is worth £6,500 of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee for one year of study.
To be eligible for the Malaysia Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2012, applicants must be a Malaysian national or permanently domiciled in Malaysia, apply for a study place by 22 June 2012 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2012.
The Malaysia Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2012 is awarded on the basis of academic merit.
If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2012 onwards.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
The deadline for applications is Friday 29 June 2011; results will be announced Friday 27 July 2012.

The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships or funding specifically for Malaysian students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from Malaysia can apply:
