Entrepreneurship, leadership and consultancy
Excel in three core challenges of modern business with the Sheffield MBA
Spend a year on the Sheffield MBA and you will exceed employers’ expectations. Our applied approach and focus on entrepreneurship, leadership and consultancy ensures that delegates have skills that today’s leaders need – the ability to analyse, innovate and implement change.
The University of Sheffield is a Russell Group institution, meaning that Sheffield University Management School is research intensive and our academic staff are world-leading in their fields of expertise. Sheffield MBA delegates therefore benefit from cutting-edge knowledge and highly-regarded research excellence which is embedded in our teaching.
In addition to providing a theoretical academic framework to structure your knowledge and learning we place a strong focus on hands-on, applied experience. Throughout the Sheffield MBA you will work as a consultant to a client company, applying the theory you have explored in learning sessions to real-world scenarios. Our Business Development Team and dedicated Employability Hub provide you with introductions to a range of clients to find a match based on your background and interests; they will also support and guide you on your route to an extraordinary career.
MBA delegates are based exclusively in the unique, purpose-designed Sheffield University Management School building, which offers an ideal environment for you to study, collaborate and socialise. See more in the About Us section of our website, where we profile the new building, and take a virtual tour of the whole school below.
You will also become part of our worldwide network of MBA alumni, giving you access to social and business networking opportunities and careers support.

The Sheffield MBA is the flagship programme of Sheffield University Management School and is delivered in dedicated executive facilities at our newly refurbished £11million building.
Sheffield is a lively, vibrant, safe and culturally rich city in the heart of England that offers exceptional opportunities and a warm welcome to students from all over the world.
The Management School’s mission is to use this world-class research base to develop knowledgeable and employable students, promote socially-responsible work practices and have a positive impact on organisations and society throughout the world. This mission drives your MBA journey. We blend our globally renowned research with the opportunity to interact with businesses, allowing you to grow and develop as managers and leaders, ready to develop your organisations and inform society when you return to the workplace.
The challenges of the 21st century require leaders who can adapt to rapidly changing environments, understand situations and find innovative solutions to problems, and then lead their organisations forward. To this end we have designed our programme around the core themes of Consultancy, Leadership and Entrepreneurship. On this programme, you will have the opportunity to work on real projects for a range of organisations, both large and small, and make a difference.
You will join students from across the globe and share your experiences to develop an international and ethical understanding of the world. We also provide opportunities for you to undertake summer schools in a range of international locations to increase your global perspective.
