ISEE 2012 - 4th International Symposium of Engineering Education, The Edge, The University of Sheffield, 18th-20th July 2012 Educating the Engineers of Tomorrow

The 4th International Symposium of Engineering Education took place between the 18th-20th of July 2012 at the University's Edge Conference facilities.
As a prelude to the conference, Prof. Eric Mazur, Harvard University Area Dean of Applied Physics, gave a very well received presentation to a wide audience at St George's Church on 'Educating the Innovators of the 21st Century'.

The Conference itself was opened by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Mike Hounslow who welcomed delegates from around the world who gathered in Sheffield to share their experiences and discuss good educational practice in Engineering.
The conference was praised by those who attended for its excellent organisation, the provision of an intimate and friendly atmosphere where delegates could mingle and exchange ideas, as well as the top calibre keynote speakers it had attracted.

The various papers, as well as presentation slides, together with a video recording of Prof. Mazur's public lecture, can be found on the Conference web pages: http://isee2012.group.shef.ac.uk/
Dr Plato Kapranos, as Conference Chair, would like to thank all the colleagues around the faculty who were involved in the organisational process over the past 2 years, but especially would like to single out Ms Kate Orgill for a special thank you for her pro-active involvement during the crucial weeks leading up to the conference, as well on the actual days of running it.

Finally, he would also like to express his sincere thanks to the sponsors of this event:
