Applying for an Undergraduate Course

Undergraduate StudentsAll undergraduate applicants for UK universities have to apply through UCAS (Universities & Colleges Admissions Service), which is a central service dealing with applications to all full-time courses leading to a first degree. The application process for each session begins in September of the year prior to entry. Early applications are advised. Once you have applied you may be invited to a departmental visit day.

Entry Requirements for 2012

For all our courses, except for our foundation year, you will need to have studied Maths and a science subject (Physics, Chemistry or Biology).

For MEng Mechanical Engineering with French, German, Italian or Spanish you'll also need a GCSE grade A in the language you'd like to study.

International students requires IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 and 6.0 in each component or an equivalent English Language qualification.

A Levels AAA including Maths and a science subject
Scottish Highers + Advanced Highers AAABB + AB
International Baccalaureate 37 points,  6 of which should be in Higher Level Maths and a science subject
BEng
A Levels AAB including Maths and a science subject
Scottish Highers + Advanced Highers AAABB + AB
International Baccalaureate 35 points, 6 of which should be in Higher Level Maths and a science subject
Foundation Year
A Levels ABB with GCSE Maths and Science at grade B or equivalent

International Baccalaureate 33 points
