Research areas available

We offer a wide range of research posts in a variety of subject areas including arts, health, humanities, science and social science.

A number of departments now offer a new '1+3' degree comprising a Research-Council-funded research training Masters followed by a PhD, and a number also offer a PhD with Integrated Studies.

Before you apply you should:

  • contact the department you are interested in to check they have an appropriately qualified supervisor in the area you wish to study
  • ensure you have the necessary qualifications to study here
  • ensure you can meet the financial requirements of the programme.
