Alumni Awards
The University is committed to rewarding the loyalty of students who have previously graduated and intend to pursue further studies at this University. Fee reductions are available for all University of Sheffield graduates, and siblings, spouses, sons and daughters of University of Sheffield graduates, for all years of study.
Award details
An Alumni Award will reduce the annual Overseas tuition fees by £1,000. An additional £500 reduction is available for University of Sheffield graduates who have received a first class honours undergraduate degree.
Awards are tenable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
Eligibility
Eligibility is determined the International Office's eligibility criteria as set out on their website. Applicants should review this guidance in the first instance.
The general eligibility requirements are:
- Academic requirements – applicants should have, or expect to achieve, a degree from the University of Sheffield, or have a brother, sister, mother, father, husband or wife who has done so.
- Allowed study options – applicants should be registering on their first year of study with the University for 2010/11 on a programme of postgraduate study.
- Residency restrictions – awards are open to international applicants only (classed as Overseas for fee purposes).
How to apply
Applications should be made directly to the International Office. Full details of the application procedure are available on their website:
- Complete an application for admission as a postgraduate student. Details of how to apply for admission can be found by following the link on the right. Applications for admission should be submitted as soon as possible.
- Wait until you have received an admissions or applicant number.
- Complete the online application process as outlined on the International Office website.
- The International Office will review the application and you will hear the outcome within two weeks.
