University of Sheffield funding

The University of Sheffield invests heavily in the development of our postgraduate community. Students who wish to undertake postgraduate study in any Faculty of the University can apply for the annual University Prize and Faculty Scholarship competitions. We also offer a range of unique funding opportunities through donations from benefactors and our close relationships with other universities and organisations.

Other funding bodies

Many charities, foundations and trusts provide funding for postgraduate study. Some offer full scholarships and others offer smaller awards. Some scholarships are for specific subject areas or applicants while others have more general eligibility criteria. Please see our external funding page for a list of funding bodies and search sites which may help you to find other scholarships.
