About the course1 year full-time/2 years part-time This course explores the relationship between learning, children and young people's culture and educational environments. You'll draw on international theory and practice as well as the expertise of Sheffield's renowned team of educational design researchers and practitioners. There is an emphasis on school and kindergarten environments, but scope to explore a range of other educational settings. This course addresses a growing national and international need for professionals who are skilled in the spatial design of learning environments. Entry requirementsYou'll need a good honours degree (2:1 or above) or other equivalent qualification related to design in the built environment, including architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, town planning or education and learning, or another subject which involves the design of learning environments. If you have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) in another area plus a teacher-training qualification or substantial professional design experience in architecture, interior design, landscape design, town planning, construction or education then we'll consider your application. We'd also like to see your portfolio to get an idea of your design abilities and a written statement of your interest in the design of learning environments.
